Silica (silicon dioxide) is the second most abundant mineral in the earth's crust. In nature, it is mostly found in its crystalline form as quartz sand, but also living organisms use silica as a robust skeleton material. Because it is a natural material, it is widely used in technical applications as well as in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical applications.

We use it as a functional component for our coating technology.

APPLICABILITY

The technology is highly flexibel and can be applied with conventional coating methods found in the paper industry, such as film press, size press, spray coating or even printing methods like flexography.

CeraSleeve® can be utilized on a wide range of fibers - virgin fibers as well as secondary fibers - and is applicable on wet and dry substrates.
